RANTAUPRAPAT

Rantau Prapat is the capital city of Labuhan Batu regency, North Sumatra. The distance between Medan and Rantauprapat approximately c288 Km that can be reached by train and bus. Status Rantau Prapat is a district town. At first extensive Labuhanbatu district is 9223.18 km², while the total population of 1,431,605 inhabitants in 2007. With the establishment of South Labuhan Batu Regency and North Labuhan Batu Regency, then the district area becomes 2562.01 km² and population became 857 692 in 2008 ,

With the establishment of Labuhanbatu District of North and South Labuhan Batu Regency, then the number of sub-districts in Labuhanbatu into nine districts.Rantauprapat also a city whose growth and development very rapidly. In the field of economy, the  biggest revenue of this city comes from rubber and palm oil.

In the middle of town Rantauprapat flowing large river called the Bilah River. Bilah River plays an important role in the economy. Especially in the past, Bilah River has become the only transportation to get in and out of the area Rantauprapat. In addition to Bilah River, there are some important icons of the city's identity such as Masjid Agung and Masjid Al-Ikhlas are one of Rantauprapat icons, and sports sation POSLAB, Sports Building (GOR) and many more.

Rantauprapat is a heterogeneous city which has various Culturein it such as, Malay, Minang, Batak, mandailing, karo, Simalungun,Javanese, Thionghoa, and so on. Including tionghoa have long settled in the city center. Many cultures that exist in this town also influenced the culinary Rantauprapat. Typical food in Rantauprapat dominated by a culture of Malay, Minang, Batak, and Java. One example is most of Rantauprapat’s  foods dominates by Gulai. And there are Anyang Ayam, Rendang, and Urap. However, the most famous is the Anyang Ayam Rantauprapat pakat. Pakat is a young rattan that burned. Although pakat bitter but give the impression for people.

Rantauprapat city also has many vacation places. Especially natural places, one of which is where the Aek buru is bathing place where the river water under the feet of the hill with a view of the green and soothing. And Linggahara waterfall that was very beautiful.  

There's more modern water rides are very popular in this town is Boom Bara waterpark. There are a variety of games and a swimming pool. Boombara Waterpark become the largest water recreation in Rantauprapat because the available variety of exciting water rides fun.And available to reach with any transportation.
